Who am I?
My name is Dávid Tatarčiak, and I’m from a small country in the heart of Europe: Slovakia. This is a glimpse into my inner world, my passion, my vision: photography. My eyes see things that are often invisible to others. I seek the play of light and shadow. For me, photography doesn’t have to be super sharp; it doesn’t have to be grain-free; quite the opposite. What some might see as flaws, I see as a way of expression, a part of my creation. Like the project I’m currently working on: Imaginarium.
Since when?
Currently, it’s been about 15 years.
Why do I do it?
Photography gives me the opportunity to be a superhero for a moment, like when I first held my father’s old camera and suddenly could freeze life around me. Photography has become my life and passion. I enjoy perceiving the world around me through the viewfinder; it’s my own world, seen through my eyes. Through photography, I can change, stop, or slow down this world for a brief moment, being a superhero who can freeze time.
